Mapping the PSHE Programme of Study to New Statutory Guidance on Health Education and RSE

The PSHE Association are delighted to publish an updated version of ‘We’ve got it covered’ for you today to reflect the new statutory guidance for health education, relationships education and RSE. These aspects of PSHE education will be compulsory from 2020 and the government published its new guidance recently, following consultation on a draft version last year.

We’ve got it covered’ is a handy, free guide which maps The PSHE Association’s PSHE education Programme of Study to the new statutory guidance. You will see from this guide that any school using their current PSHE education Programme of Study (Key stages 1–5) to plan high quality, regular PSHE is set up to cover the new statutory requirements, while also delivering vital economic wellbeing and careers aspects.

They are also making a few updates and improvements to the Programme of Study itself later this year – including added detail on what the new guidance means in each key stage, within the context of your broader PSHE programme. In the meantime, the current version certainly has you covered.
