The following services are funded by Central and West London CCG. Services are delivered in partnership with Hammersmith and Fulham Mind, Brent Wandsworth & Westminster Mind and Kensington & Chelsea Mind.
A prevention and awareness raising programme designed for students in Year 6 up to 6th Form. The programme is made up of a series of seven interactive workshops designed to help improve young people’s psychological well-being. The Learn Well Programme builds resilience in young people by challenging the stigma around mental health, raising awareness of the support available and promoting positive wellbeing strategies and coping skills. Full programmes or standalone workshops can be scheduled into PSHE lessons, assemblies or drop-down days.
Youth Mental Health First Aid:
Mental Health Awareness training for adults supporting children and young people age 8 – 25. The training will provide information, tools and techniques to help staff spot the signs and symptoms of mental health problems and better support a young person who is experiencing mental and emotional distress. Staff/schools can attend the full 2-day training qualifying the
trainee as an accredited Mental Health First Aider or the 1 day training where staff will qualify with a Mental Health First Aid Champion certificate. Trainings can be scheduled in-house or staff can join externally scheduled trainings. Max number of participants: 15
Bespoke Training Packages:
This training is suitable for staff/schools that are unable to attend a full day’s Mental Health First. Aid Training or require training on a specific mental health topic. Training can vary in length (between 1 – 3 hrs) and can be offered to schools as part of an inset day, CPD session or twilight evening. Topics include; Mental Health Awareness for frontline staff, Suicide Prevention, self-harm, disordered eating, anxiety, depression and other training packages to suit the needs of your school/college.Training can be scheduled in house. There is no maximum number of participants.
Cost Implication for Schools
Services are free of charge for state schools – dependant on current HF Mind funding grants – or else can be provided at a subsidised rate. Services for independent schools and universities are charged at the full rate. Please contact the Youth Services Manager for availability and rates.
